hey guys! even though i'm currently out at Winter NAMM 2018 kissing hands and shaking babies, that doesn't stop me from having a brand new weekend wankshop for you all!
on episode 164, we're gonna be taking a look at one of my favorite super shredder scale sequence ideas. this one is used by Eddie Van Halen, Paul Gilbert, and many more! You've heard this in the "I'm the One" solo from Van Halen 1, for example. Its use of legato and picked notes, plus the mix of alternate picking and legato, leads to a lick that has a lot of dynamics and tonal interest to it. you can easily apply this to any 3 note per string scale, or walk it up any pair of strings for musical devastation! Today's example is in the key of B minor.
Thanks a lot for watching!!!!
